Hello Bluesheads!
Here's to 2008!
June 21st is coming up fast, and we will soon be together again. Ten years! Unbelievable. What’s new you ask? Well, you can now purchase your Blues Bash tickets here online. Click on the tickets link for more information. Of course, you can still send a check or money order, if you wish. I hope this makes everything a bit more convenient.
We are receiving tremendous feedback on the Artist lineup, and the energy leading up to this year’s event has been very positive. I know this positive energy will carry through the event, and lift the spirits of all you Bashers! Each performer is psyched to be in the show, and gearing up to give us all they got.
Once again, the gates will open at 10:00am, the show will start at 11:00am, and we’ll party blues style till 7:00pm. Parking is free, as usual! Thank you Mike & Toni Menghini for being such wonderful hosts. Also, a big shout out to the Julian Chamber of Commerce for their support.
I’ve been called a blues dog, but please leave your animals at home. We love ours too, but…
There will be plenty to eat, and drink, so please leave the coolers in the car, and support the local merchants of Julian.
If you’re thinking about making a weekend of it, make your reservations now, as accommodations, and camping sites get booked up fast. Check out: http://www.julianca.com/lodging/index.htm
Feel free to bring beach chairs, and small umbrellas as the atmosphere is quite casual. Large umbrellas & pop-up tents, however will block your neighbors view, and we will ask that you stay toward the rear of the audience. Thank you in advance for your consideration!
Now for some serious business. Some real blues. I recently watched a show about people in need around the globe that broke my heart. The bottom line is that there are many folks out there that go without the basic necessities that we take for granted. Afterwards, I had to ask myself what could I do in my limited capacity to help? What one necessity would make a real difference in someone’s life? Well, this blues event allows me the opportunity to reach out to quite a few people each year, and I have a big favor to ask. Please bring one pair of gently used shoes to the show that I can donate to someone who truly needs them. Let someone walk in your shoes! “Shoes for Blues” We can help…together!
Thank you very, very much! Stay Tuned…
